About Us

Together We're Creating a Revolution

The Software Process Improvement Network is comprised of individuals dedicated to improving the software engineering practice. Regional groups called "SPINs" meet and share their experiences – initiating and sustaining software process improvement programs. The groups all come together and meet annually at the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) Conference, an event that is co-sponsored by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and a regional SPIN. Southeastern Wisconsin went several years without an active SPIN chapter; however, with the help of several local companies, the Milwaukee SPIN organization was reestablished in 2003.

Our Mission

To provide the Southeastern Wisconsin software community with a public organization that promotes Software Process Improvement (SPI). The organization will serve as a SPI forum for the exchange of experiences and ideas and a source of educational information for its members and the organizations they belong to.

Our Meetings

We hold an informational seminar each month from 5:30-7:45 PM. The meeting consists of networking followed by a featured speaker presentation. Currently, we have been meeting at companies throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding suburbs.

Milwaukee SPIN Funding

The Milwaukee SPIN is free to individual members and operates strictly on donations from member corporations. Our monthly requirements include securing a meeting location and light refreshments for the monthly meeting (both are usually donated by a member company). At times, we incur fees to bring in expert industry speakers, such as travel and expense or speaker fees. In order to continue holding these meetings, we are asking local member companies for their support. Please consider giving a monetary donation or donating your office conference room for our next meeting.
